Intercultural Life

As a human being, we can not deny that socialization is become important part of our life.
Socialization is the way how children are introduced to the value and attitudes of their
society and how they learn what they will expect in their adult roles. In socialization, we face
cultures that sometime become block to person especially from different place which
also have different culture.
Before we discuss farther about culture, we must know its definition. According to Sukarni,
culture is a pattern of thinking of a way of life which is followed collectively by a group
of people. Therefore, culture and society are closely related. Culture in modern context,
however,shows a logical way of thinking, an outstanding of liberty and using technology
properly.As the cultural nation, we are quite open to foreign culture. The history showed
that many foreign cultures had entered to our country. Half of them have already mixed with
the original component of our culture.
As a result, we have faced socio-cultural changing. Our modern life has already been an
intercultural life. It is the condition in which very various cultures meet in one place.
We will encounter different cultures and foreigners who come here also meet the different
cultures. The point is as citizen in this era, we must understand and know each culture in
this world to avoid cultural shock if we have relation with foreigners.
